Saskia's eyes

Post by 19debra »

Did anyone have problems with getting the eyes to stay in the socket? They kept coming out, so I had to try and do one eye at a time. Wait for one to dry before putting in the other eye. I used 20mm eyes. Now I see that one eye is not in the eye socket on one side...was when I glued it.
Going to take both eyes out and redo. Not much white showing with these eyes. Should I try to make the socket bigger? Use smaller eyes?
Any help you can give would be appreciated.

thanks,
debra

I am finishing a Saskia now and found out taht full rounds eyes won't fit very well , it will always have a gap .. I am not sure why since it is a 20mm the size that was suppose to fit her perfectly .. if you use flat back it will be perfect

I used 22mm oval flat back w/ a larger iris and I love how they look on my girl :)

I have done 4 Saskia's now and have used 20mm flat back rounds (with small iris) in all of them and they fit perfect.

When I used to do my dolls and had flat back eyes that wouldn't fit I would just put a small amount of the stuffing or cotton behind them. I put a very small amount of glue on whatever I used. I hope this helps. Worked for me. Hugs, Dianne :D
