Presentation Boxes

Post by Andreas_Dream_Babies »

Have you seen these gorgeous new presentation box that Precious Little Baby Dust is selling? http://www.plbdstore.com/ProductDetails ... de=dollbox Is there anything like this in the USA? I love the window, and the fact that you can decorate them however you want. I would love to see someone in the US carry these, as they must be really expensive to order from the UK. Any dealers out there want to sell them? Or someone want to go in with me on ordering some from PLBD?

I think they are adorable and I love love love the idea. But ,You would have to find a box to fit the box in for mailing and I would still cover the face with a diaper for mailing So upon arrival the recepiant would be looking at a covered head. It's a great idea for personal delivery or for doll shows possibly but who wants to carry a big box around?

They are cute. I'd say that they are regular boxes that someone crafty has made pretty. Great idea though but I too would be concerned about the doll's face getting messed up if you were mailing.

I was looking at them too. They are fantastic! They do come with an outer shipping box so no worries there!

I never wrap my dolls faces, I don't want to smash the lashes plus, I want mommy to be able to see baby peeking out as soon as she removes the tissue paper. Instead, I snuggle the stuffed toy right up to the chin, using it as a barrier against pressures that come to it. With the baby bundled inside the blanket and wrapped in a ribbon, I tissue wrap extra bubbles to support around the head, still leaving the face exposed. I am going to get some of these boxes later. I have a lot of show expenses right now and won't be shipping babies until after June for the most part anyway so I can wait.

Very nice and would be fun to decorate! Wonder if they would ship overseas. They say they must be delivered by courier, not sure what that means for international shipping. :D Nancy

I didn't real all the details so that's great they come with an outer box. But I wonder what that means that they have to be delivered by courier?

I don't see any problem with getting them shipped from PLBD. Usually UK shipping is less coming here than going there. I always like that :)

I just tried to order five of the boxes for 19.95 pounds, but with shipping it is 64.95 pounds (102.84 dollars). I don't think so!!! We need a dealer here in the USA. Nancy

they are adorable. I love them. But i don't keep boxes. I don't see the point anymore because so many of my dolls were once worth lots of money on the secondary market. Now i'd be lucky to get $30 on a doll i paid $300 for years and years ago. So i thew out all my boxes lol...so much more space in the closet.

Thanks for all your replies! They're adorable, aren't they? I'm thinking a dealer would be best. According to the website, shipping is the same for even 100 boxes (45 pounds), and it gets the price down to $6.40 a box. Someone want to buy 100 of them and deal them for us?

Now, I would appreciate your input on how to wrap up the baby to put them in. Would there be space for bubble wrap and all that?

If I had the money right now, I would Andrea. I think they are great.

I suspect you can attach a ribbon to the bottom of the box (slip it through the back of the box to the inside). This would secure your doll so that you don't need to fully enclose it in bubble wrap. I would tie my baby in, wrap up bubble pillows in tissue wrap (WHITE so that colors don't bleed onto your doll or blankets) and tuck them around the baby.

There is room between the baby box and shipper box where you can put more bubble pillows and protect the bows from getting squished.

If there was enough people that wanted them, I am game to order 100. But I would need to sell them quickly as I don't have the room to store many. I got kits arriving. :D I have asked Cassie and rachel how much it would be to get 100.

Thank you all for liking the boxes! :foryou: Were really please with how our idea turned out and its nice to hear your feedback. Yes Debbie that's right, the dolls are tied into the box. We're going to work on some tutorials next week when I have shifted this horrible virus on some decorating ideas and how to assemble to boxes and secure the doll, but basically they're tied into the boxes so they dont go anywhere and no need for bubble wrap or nappies.

The boxes are sooo expensive to ship to the US and basically anywhere outside of Europe, they're expensive to ship in the UK even and its all because of the size of them, even when folded as much as possible. That's the down side :( We have had to reassess the shipping for Europe and worldwide but the problem with that is that courier prices go up and down every day for some reason, so for now we have taken off the option for WW shipping so people can request an accurate quote before hand. Right now to ship 10 boxes to the US the shipping is showing at £69!!!!!!

We are going to look into having the boxes produced by a US box company we designed these ourselves and had them custom made so we need to find a company that can produce the same quality and numbers we have here and then can consider having these drop shipped to suppliers in the US. It would certainly be cheaper for US dealers to buy them this way for resale and cheaper for artists to buy the direct from the US.

I think this is def the way to go to get the boxes into the US, so if any suppliers are interested (Gina, I'll drop you a message as I need to pick your brains) let me know and we can plan ahead.
