I just want a simple way of adding some color to my silicones' lips and cheeks.
All of you silicone painters, can you please give a simple tutorial of what I need
and how to do it. These are older silicones, however, I would love to be able to
just add a bit of color. Please help...Thanks.
Can I touch up the paint on my silicone babies?

I would like to know this too! Ruth

Re: Can I touch up the paint on my silicone babies?
Being older myself I might be able to give you some simple instructions on this process.
1.first you have to sand off the color where you want to repaint it. Do this so as to get a correct color and smooth look. I use a 'veryfine' sandpaper . I cut the paper into small usable pieces, "2x2" squares.
2.Then you clean off area and prep with warm water.
3.You then prep your silicone paint and use desire brush or sponge to apply paint. I only make up a small cap full of paint and thinner at a time. It is only workable for about 15mins. so you can't have it sitting around for long.
4.Paint one color and then let it dry for 24-48hrs.
5.Then paint second color if needed or touching the first color. You can paint many different colors or shades in a day as long as they are not touching each other. This allows the silicone paint to dry all the way through so it won't crake or smear or come off.
6.Finally after all is dry sometimes 1 wk. add final coat of gloss paint for a shine on lips or nails. If using matte powder or cornstarch do that last but certainly after lips are completely dry.
If I have directed incorrect I do hope another will correct mm instructions.
I am only able to tell you this from my many failed attempts.
Enjoy,
Nancy J.

Re: Can I touch up the paint on my silicone babies?
Personally I would be too nervous to go after one of my silicones with sand paper...
I don't feel like I have the skills for that.
What about just some womens powder rouge to the cheeks, chin and forehead?
Temporary fix - but at least you can remove it and not compromise your silicone.

I agree with Anna ,I wouldn't dare use sandpaper on any of my dolls however like Anna I know ladies who have simply used a little blusher powder on the cheeks and it looks lovely ,maybe that is worth a try first? HUGS Susan xx
