It rained and look what I found in the garden!!

We are in a drought here in California and every bit of rain helps. We had just a little bit and I went outside to look around the garden....

Wait that bush looks a little different.... so I went closer....now that looks
strange...

So I went closer and oh my goodness look what I found.....

Little somebodies hiding among the leaves.... maybe they got left by the bees who love, love this plant.... so I went even closer.... and found a bunch of little bitty babies some 3 inches and some 4 inches!

So I ran back in the house and got a bowl and collected them.....

I think the bees did have something to do with them because the bees were not one bit happy! Stay tuned for the next chapter of these little babies. Ruth

Keep trying.... you just have to look after a rain while the drops are still on the leaves.... and you have to be quiet and it helps if you are thinking happy thoughts! It doesn't have to be a special bush - I found one in a succulent one time. I just know there are more Rainbabies in my future ! Thanks for looking! Ruth

That really made me laugh! I was trying to think of another adjective, since everyone used cute, but that is certainly the word that comes to mind. Cute, cute, cute!
I looked in my garden, but you can imagine what I found.

I have a dog. That's my luck.

Loved the story too. Very creative.

Yes, the Rainbabies are shy and don't like big animals like dogs. One of the ladies said she thought they might grow up to be gnomes.... but I am pretty sure they are the size they will always be!

Will have to watch them and see how they do. They seem happy in the house and snug in their Strombecker beds.... We don't have any pets to scare them.... so guess they feel safe. Ray has yet to wake up though.... maybe that is just who he is! I may try and take one or two out tomorrow to lunch and see how they do in public!

I LOVE that book!! I've had it for years, it's always one of the favorites to be read aloud. The pictures are so beautiful and sweet.

What a darling story, Ruth! I haven't ever seen that book either, but I am going to get it. Your little ones are so adorable! I live in Northern California and we had a few sprinkles today. Maybe I can find some little babies near my house!! I know they won't be in the main yard because of my 3 giant dogs, but maybe I will be able to find some in the orchard
