Doll show in Wichita, Kansas... any interest?

Post by Jenny Originals »

Hello everyone. I am considering putting together a doll show right here in the Central part of the U.S.A. Would you all be interested in traveling to Wichita, Kansas? The hotels are within a few miles from the airport. Shuttling will be available from the airport to the hotels. Are you interested in workshops? Please give me your thoughts. Like and share this, so we can spread the word and I will look more into setting up the days and time of the show... held possibly next year at the beginning of August. It would be wonderful to have another doll show for all of use to get together and enjoy what we love so much. This show will be for OOAKs, Reborns, Silicones, Resin, smaller scale cribs, hand-made outfits, teddy bears and Primitives. :headspin:

That would be a great location - more centrally located, but would not attend if it was in August. There is already a show in June, and ROSE is in July. One in August would be too close. I don't think you'd get enough people. If you want to do one there, I would suggest having it at a different time of year. JMO

Whenever it is will be fine with me. I'm just thankful this show will be so close to me. But Teri has a good point, most artists can't make enough merchandise to sell at 3 shows so close together and would have to choose. I might be wrong, but I also think Idex is going to be in April.

Oops, and I forgot about the Sauder Village show. That one is already in early August. Although you don't hear as much about it as some of the other shows so I'm not sure how big of a show it is.

Thank you so much everyone. :grouphug: Unfortunately, some of us can't make it to the larger doll shows because of how far away they are. I thought having it during the summer would help for those who are traveling. If that isn't an issue, we can have it during another month. I wanted to keep it out of the school year because I have two very busy High School daughters that would like to help run the show. :) And I know that it makes it more difficult for other parents to plan for a show when they have children in school. But if that isn't a problem, how about March or possibly September. I want to stay away from the winter months for those of us who have to travel. You never know what the winter days will be like.

I love hearing your thoughts and opinions. We could really make this a great centrally located show. :elephant:

This is the hotel that we are looking at. It's only a short distance away from the airport. Seriously, you look out the window and you can see the airport.

The middle of the USA is a great place for a doll show. August is too hot, and too busy, in my opinion.

I don't know about Wichita but where I live (SW Kansas) March can have some snowy and icy weather , which
would be hard to predict this early.
September weather will be agreeable--Could you do it over Labor Day weekend?
Then your daughters could help and a lot of people would have a three day weekend to travel.
