Long Time, No See - UPDATES
Well, long time, no talk, friends. I have not posted in quite some time. I hope that all of y'all had a wonderful holiday season (I say holiday season because many different holidays are associated with the month of December). I worked 9 hours on Christmas day, which was pretty fun because I got to "celebrate" with the many residents that stayed behind. I also happily photographed some of the staff at my work, too. My babies were packed up for the majority of December due to maintenance in my apartment that involves chemicals. This is very much a reason as to why I have not taken my babies out and photographed them. Another is that I have been immensely busy. I worked on a custom Amelia RuBert for a good friend, then suddenly had to pack all the babies up. In the time that I have had away from my vinyl children, I went up to see a very dear friend, Sophie (AKA Jellykinbabies). That was super fun, for sure. Anyway, on New Year's Day, it is tradition for the entire family to gather at my mom's and enjoy a Ukranian feast. We make amazing homemade perogies and borscht (without beats). The night before, my niece, who is older than me, broke her nose while out partying. She and I paid a nice visit to the ER, and while we were waiting, we talked about my animals, Mango (hamster) in particular. She suddenly asked me if I wanted a hedgehog and at first, I said no. I had never even held a hedgehog, let alone taken care of one and tamed one. But, she told me her reason for asking ("We can't take care of her like she deserves"), and I then said yes. So, Monday, January 2nd, I brought home my new baby. Mischief is a two year old African Pygmy Hedgehog, coloured salt and pepper, and is not tamed by any means of the imagination. They were not kidding when they said they could not care for her like she deserved. If you are a hedgehog owner, you know that these animals need a lot of attention and care. They can't be neglected because they can become "aggressive", which is actually just their defenses acting up. Mischief is VERY defensive. She is always huffing and whatnot. I am working on two years of her not being held much. But, she has already started to warm up to me immensely. Today, we hit a "milestone", as I picked her up and she did not hiss at me at all.
As for my reborn baby doll collection updates: I currently have Simon (Jayden Scholl by Nicole Russell) and Kenna (Lucy Kewy by Jellykinbabies) in my care. I am actually expecting THREE new babies. I won a Scarlett by Bonnie Brown right before Christmas, who should be home soon (she is a custom). I am expecting my JellyBean, who is my Will Scholl custom by Nicole, and I am making a baby for myself as soon as the kit is released. He will be a boy! Yay! Haha. I apologize for the long post, that most of you likely did not read, but I thought I would share any way. Reply with photos of your babies. I want to see some pretty babies :3

Re: Long Time, No See - UPDATES
Well you sure sound busier than an rodent I know. It actually sounded like fun to take on such a project of training and care. Oh, like we do with children! Lol....
All I did was get a horrible tummy flu and then debilitating cold that seems to be hanging around here.
Hope things are settling down for you and you can keep your life simple.
Hugs,
Nancy J.

Re: Long Time, No See - UPDATES
I always thought I would like to own a hedgehog.
I am allergic to cats a lot & to dogs a lesser degree.
Only had one person that I ever knew that owned one to ask about.
I always thought they were cute! Mischief is adorable!!

So is your nieces nose ok? And my nieces had hedgehogs once. They did not keep them either. My friend has one and has had it for several years now. Anyway. Glad you are back.

Yes, for the most part, as far as I can tell. She had x-rays done on it, and all. She hasn't really updated me with the rest.Suzanne wrote:So is your nieces nose ok? And my nieces had hedgehogs once.
