Armatures in Silicones

Post by slky »

Is there any way to put an armature in an already poured silicone? I'm just curious, and the folks in here seem to be the overall experts.

Well, I for would never try to do this... because I would be so afraid it would turn out really really bad.

Susan Gibbs recently did this. Don't know if she's still on here but maybe you could shoot her a message on FB.

I'm no expert, but it might be possible before the silicone sets, but wouldn't think it possible after it solidifies.

I know of repairs after the silicone has been cured. They require a very sharp knife, or it will be an ugly cut. Gluing afterwards is possible with the right choice of glue, but it will always remain visible. The whole doll? I woudn't try.
