It was NEVER a quote "club" and especially an exclusive one and NO one was EVER invited to join. It was opened to ALL. If it were a club in the truest sense of the word it would not have been open for all to play. We held giveaways and played silly games for a chance to win. The winner would receive a Paci and whatever was offered in the game at the time. I might do an outfit giveaway, Vikki even gave away a silicone doll and Rosie would offer different things. Like any other giveaway, there could only be one winner. Everyone was invited to join in a play along. I'm sorry if anyone felt let out. That was never our intention. Had we continued the giveaways everyone would have gotten a Paci charm. We never drew the same name twice. It was all in fun. If I'm ever entered into a giveaway and I don't win I don't get mad at the giver because I didn't win. I think oh well, happy for the winner and better luck next time. Anyone that knows Vikki or myself knows we are not that type of person to exclude anyone and it kind of hurts that people think that way of us. I take it by some of the comments that I guess we don't need to start back the games. I'm terribly sorry if I hurt anyone and I ask you to forgive me. Dion you of all people are so special to me and I never knew you felt left out. I'm sorry friend. That hurts my heart to think you got hurt.Dion wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2017 5:24 pm My understanding of the Paci Club was that it wasn't just a club that you could join because you wanted to be a part of it. You had to be "invited" by the elite of the club after winning a contest, etc. That meant that a LOT of people who wanted to be a part of the club, couldn't join. They were never invited, or never "made it". I know that it must have seemed fun for those who did make it in, but, to be perfectly honest, I always thought of it as a big clique, and rather divisive. It didn't seem like there were very many members, but I only knew the more vocal ones, or the ones who displayed pics of their pacifiers in their siggy pics. Like Jo said, she tried really hard to be a part of the club, but could never make it. That doesn't sound like fun to me. I don't want to be part of something that leaves nice people on the outside looking in. I was happy when it disappeared.
I am sure that my opinion is controversial, but it's just that...my opinion.
Hugs, Dion

Re: Paci Club???
Dominique, no one was ever invited. It was opened to all that wanted to play. The way you would win was if your name was drawn in one of the giveaways. It was never an elite club but was opened to everyone. It wasn't even a club, we just called it that. As a winner of a game, you got a charm Paci. Vikki, Rosie and myself sponsored the giveaway gifts. EVERY name was entered into a hat. It was usually Vikki's mother in law that we all called granny that would draw the name. It could have been anything from an outfit all the way up to a doll. All you had to do was play the game. Not everyone won but I thought it was fun to play as there was always games going on so sooner or later you would win. If your name was chosen more that once and you were a winner, then we would draw a new name so everyone had a chance to win, not just one lucky person that might get their name drawn time after time. I didn't realize so many felt let out and I do apologize on behalf of myself, Vikki or Rosie. I never in my widest dreams thought anyone would get hurt in the process. I guess sometimes it doesn't pay to think. LOL! I wish all of you the biggest dolly hugs that I can give.

Re: Paci Club???
Just to set the record straight, my feelings weren't hurt by not being part of the Paci Club. Yes, everyone was invited to play the games, but only a few got to be part of the club. I only played one game which was to write a few words or title for a picture that was shown. I didn't win, but that's okay. I am ALWAYS truly happy for those who do win at giveaways and games, and that includes those who won Pacifier charms all those years ago. I consider myself a VERY good sport. I am fine with everyone who wants to be a part of the Paci Club. Go forward with my blessing!!!!! I was just sharing MY opinion and not out of sorrow for not being a member! Sandi knows I love the daylights out of her, and my opinion in no way reflects on her.

It sounds fun, I am sorry I never got a chance to play. It sucks that people felt left out. I wonder if they knew it was open to everyone. Maybe now that it is known you could still bring it back?
My childhood may be over, but that doesn’t mean playtime is.

Just because I expressed an opinion doesn't mean this idea shouldn't go forward. It seems many people would enjoy it. I speak with my heart, which in today's society appears to be the wrong thing. I tend to put myself in other people's feelings and place. Please Sandi, don't worry that my past feeling are those of being left out or otherwise. They weren't/aren't. I tried once and and wasn't successful, so I moved on. Please don't keep the games and happiness from others just because some of us I spoke from our my hearts. I apologize if I can across wrong, that was never my intent, I just wish the best for everyone.

Re: Paci Club???
I always thought it was an exclusive club too. What about calling it the paci games instead of the paci club?

Re: Paci Club???
I wasn't in it but would be fun if it were an open group.
I'm all for having a good reason to come check here on DF other than looking at sale items all the time.
Hugs,
Nancy J

Re: Paci Club???
It was before my time so I know nothing about it but it sounds like it would be really fun and a chance to get to know everyone a little better.
Why not give it a try welcoming all that wish to participate?

Re: Paci Club???
I won one of the games but I never displayed my paci simply because of the opposition feelings displayed on this thread already.
I was delighted but that delight dimmed because some folks get so .... sour .... when they don't "win".
Isn't it weird how no matter what we do, someone is always feeling the opposite way we are?
I think having The Paci Games would be splendid. (Notice that my name won't be drawn again since I won once. I'm still all in for the fun of it.)

Yeah, I agree. Sometimes sore losers spoil it for the winners.

Re: Paci Club???
I was 'fortunate' to win a paci for having the most untidy doll room! Nothing to be proud of I know but I had not long moved home and it was the time my hubby got ill.
I wasn't in any 'club' and I just posted a pic and won.
Didn't realise there was any animosity amongst fellow df ladies!

I didn’t hold any animosity, just kinda felt on the outside looking in, but that was just me. .LilliputdreamsofSusan wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2017 6:26 am I was 'fortunate' to win a paci for having the most untidy doll room!
