This little sweetie moved in today, too!
She didn't come with a name poor baby!!
Besides reborns, I also collect cloth babies.

I love how photorealistic dolls like this are! Do you cuddle with them?

Too cute. She looks like she is thinking, "Momma, feed me, I is hungry".

Yay! Someone who collects cloth dolls too :) what size is she? Do you like them weighted like reborns?

Dayle McKinney is the artist of this doll. I bought her here from another wonderful Doll-Fan member. She had gotten her off of E-bay. She is weighted just right. And is 22" tall. I only have one other larger cloth doll about this size & she is also weighted. My other cloth dolls are from 7"-16" tall & none of them are weighted. I think the weighting makes them so much nicer.
My oldest cloth doll was made by my Grandmother & her neighbor when I was 8 years old. She had an axtensive wardrobe that my Grandmother had made for her that Summer. She will be celebrating her 60th. birthday this year! My Grandmother sewed her & the wardrobe & her neighbor, Bonnie, embroidered the facial features on her & sewed on her yarn hair. She is named "Bonnie Ellen" after the 2 of them. My Grandmother's name was "Maggie Ellen". Thought you might like to see a picture of her.

Awe, cloth babies are so neat!!! I am so curious about him, how is his face made? Is it printed on fabric from a photo? Looks really neat!!!! I'm fascinated with this little one!

Bonnie Ellen is precious! How nice you had her made for you as a child. It's so wonderful to share the love of dolls with the people you admire most in life, isn't it?

It looks like it could have been printed onto the fabric.
It's kind of hard to tell.
Thanks for the compliments on the dolls!

Omg, this is the sweetest story ever. I love it when there is meaning behind a gift. Your grandma must've been such a cool grandma and her neighbour probably her best friend too. These days in the modern online world it is so hard to have these tight knit friendships - especially ones revolving around dolls. Thank you so much for sharing your personal collection.
