Ebay question about reborn auctions

Post by Kathleens_foreverbabies »

Hi Ladies, I have noticed lately that some auctions allow you to view the entire auction with template and some that say 'to see complete description click here'. Why do some go directly to the auction and some you have to click to see entire description? I've noticed too that when my auctions are on and you have to click to see the full description I don't see my photos. The auction template is there but not my pictures. Anyone have a clue as to why?

I've been frustrated because I can get my pictures to show but not my templates. eBay sure is complicated :banghead:

In your HTML where ever there is HTTP you have to add an S.....HTTPS...……...Take out anything that uses JAVA. I had a No Right Click and it used Java. Then your auction should show

Hmmmm, okay Carol, I just checked my auction template and I already have the s in front of all my photos (https) so if that's not the issue I wonder
what is?

And I'm still not sure that is why on some auctions you have to click to 'see full description' and some don't. That really doesn't make any sense to me but then I'm rather technically challenged  ! I may have to give Ebay a call, but that ususally seems to be a waste of time!

I'm getting ready to list for the first time in a long time and I'm just as perplexed. I did find this to help with the Java script but when I tried to add a s to my http I could no longer see my pictures so I may have to try listing without the s on the end of all my http and see what happens. :dunno:

If anyone knows how to avoid the 'for full description' button on eBay auctions please clue us in!

It is a security issue-
you have to add an 's' at the end of EVERY http on your auction html-
anywhere in the auction, if there is an http, it has to be https

Above your listing while you make it it will say something along the lines of 'unsecure items found' and you click and it will tell you which codes still need to be changed - then you just have to find them and add the 's' :)

It took me 2 weeks to find them all for my newest auction <3

I was so thankful a few weeks ago when this topic was brought up in another thread. It was suggested to help find all my pics missing the "s" that I use my "find on page" feature located in the drop menu in the upper right corner of my computer page. It has been a life-saver for me. Is that something that can help you, Janelle?
