I have a reborn that I painted with air dry paints. His mom has been scrubbing him with baby wipes over the past 6 months. The doll has gone shiny as well as a small bit of paint on the fingertips is wearing off.
I really don't want to strip the doll down. Is there something I can use to remove any residue before I touch up the fingers & re-seal him?
I don't want to put a matte sealer over any possible lotion residue that may have come from the wipes

I think alcohol removes paint. Maybe just wash with soap.

It doesnt remove the paint. Just rub it on lightly, don't scrub it. Then again it may depend on the paint, I know it doesn't remove Genesis paint.

This was painted with air dry paints. I'll try alcohol on a small spot to test it.

The alcohol is removing the paint.

Depends on the paint, when I read it was air dry, that is why I clarified it to Genesis. I do not know what you could use.

Oh no. Why in the world would anyone feel the need to scrub a reborn doll with baby wipes???? I hope you're not repairing this doll for free.

Could you just put the parts in warm soap water to soak? Don't rub just soak and rinse?
