Re: PAINTING WITH REFLECTIONS SILI PAINT

This would be the place to ask questions or share information concerning all types of doll making, re-doing, etc.

Has anyone used this silicone paint http://reflectionscasting.com/shop.html
I saw a tutorial for it on YouTube and ordered the small kit and head because it is a lot less expensive than some of the other. If I try it out on the face I can wait until it is really dry and then scrub the heck out of it to see if it holds. At least I think that would be okay. If so, I'll paint my little girl.

It should get here today. I'll let you know.
I first saw it on a tutorial on silicone painting on YouTube. I think it will have the colors I need, but we'll see. I know it is just a sample kit with very small amounts of paint, but very strong. I'll take a picture.

Yes, I just got them. I'm going to start trying them out later today - maybe? I also got a test face to paint so I'm going to get it ready first. Then I have to really clean up my work area so I don't have all those "mohair-sies" and stuff floating around. More to come.

My first impression is it is very transparent, even glass-like. That may prove to be a good thing. We'll see. The kit included white, light flesh, blue, blush and a yellowish tone. Also matting powder in a shaker and the activator. Also the test face. But no instructions so I'm on my own. I have some pictures to post soon.

Okay, here it is. I'm using an old CD case as a palette and painting surface so you can get an idea of the size. This is the paint dropped right out of the bottle

and this is the paint mixed up with the activator stuff

Not the cutest head but it is just for practice.

Truthfully, I gave up on it. I couldn't seem to get it to do anything. No color. Of course it could be that I didn't get any instructions at all with the paint. Maybe I need to get hold of Terri Meyers and see if she has anything.
