Reborn Weighting Suggestions Please
I have 3 babies that I really want to add some weight to - about 2 pounds each. I was going to buy 3 lbs of glass beads and 3 lbs of steel pellets from BB, but shipping would be nearly $25 for 6 lbs - more than the cost of the items themselves. I looked on ebay and didn't have any better luck.
What would be the best supplies to add about 2 lbs each without making the baby feel too hard? And where would be a good to purchase with good prices on supplies and shipping? Thanks!
Lori

That much for shipping! That's not right....one can ship priority up to 70lbs. for $12.95 so I wonder why they told you so much?
I'd check with them again.

Nancy J.

Do you have a Walmart near you? If you do, you can get the zinc coated steel pellets in the sporting goods section where they keep the air soft guns. The glass beads you'll need to order though. The Harbor Freight ones are too small to weight the body.

I tried exchanging the steel pellets in the BB cart for 6 lb of glass pellets and shipping was still $24. I went the whole way to the end of the check-out where it has the final total (supposedly with a 20% shipping discount, it says) and that's what it was going to charge me. I know it doesn't cost that much to ship 6 lbs - especially since it could fit in a flat rate box.
Yes, I do have a Walmart. I wrote that down and will look for them when I get there. I try to limit my trips there to no more than once a month - that store tends to attract some strange people - I try to avoid it - LOL.

Steel shot is heavier than glass beads, so that would make your babies feel heavier and still leave them cuddly.

Something I have used to add weight is the nice glass marble/rocks that you can use for floral arrangements or other crafts. I actually found some clear ones at the Dollar store in lil' bags. Of course putting them in the nylon with your polypellets then wrapping with polyfill.. Worked great for my bigger baby. Good luck with getting your babies weighted!

Re: Reborn Weighting Suggestions Please
I sell a couple sizes of glass beads in my store and I'm having a sale right now
Another thing my customers know is I never charge them more than actual Flat Rate shipping on heavy things. My shopping cart will charge by the pound but I refund the difference back in Paypal when I ship. Most of the time I can use the medium Flat Rate box anywhere in the US for $11.30 I believe it is.

Awesome! Would that work for (2) 5 lb packages of the 2mm glass beads and a dozen cable ties?
