Those ulilizing AOL email addresses on DollFan

Post by Steve »

Hey all,
Just a quick note to those of you using AOL email addresses. I recently switched servers on DollFan which means a different IP address and it seems AOL doesn't like the ip address. Several, several, many, many, times(hehe) over the last years with DollFan I've had to deal with AOL blocking emails from DollFan seemingly randomly and it's resolvable through a support system they have in place but quite frankly I'm tired of dealing with them since they run a system unlike any other and I just don't have the time right now to clear this again. Anyway, there aren't many left who use AOL for email but I know some do and if in the meantime you want to receive emails from the board you can either change your email via the UCP with any number of free email services out there such as gmail or hotmail or yahoo, etc. or complain to AOL for blocking emails from this site. I'll probably get around to it eventually but I'm personally not a fan of AOL for the way they operate and haphazardly block legitimate sites.

thanks and sorry for the inconvenience,
Steve

It's just any notification via email from DollFan...PM's are just messages within DollFan but if you have it set to send you an email notification every time you receive a PM you will be able to read the PM just not get an email notification that you got one

Well I guess that explains why I don't get notifications of my pm's anymore :( I don't have any other E-mails to use and don't want to have to remember another so I guess I will just have to keep checking here several times a day so I see if someone pm's me. :banghead:

Steve, this doesn't change how we automatically paypal our subscription, right? I don't have a paypal acct attached to the new gmail email I changed to.

Hi Steve, I'm one of those diehard AOL people -- I have so many emails filed with them that I don't want to lose so I don't switch. I am getting notifications anytime a PM is sent and also when someone else has responded on a topic that I have commented on.
