Ad Blocker?

Post by Barbara L. »

Why am I getting an "Ad Block detected" pop up?
I can't log in on my laptop because it comes up.
It wants me to disable Ad Block to sign in.
Since I pay a subscription fee, I don't want to see outside ads.
Anyone else seeing this?

I don't have that issue on my laptop or Ipad. Perhaps email Steve.

Since you can post that means you are signed in, right? If you are a paying member and signed in then you won't see ads.

Yes, but when I posted this I was on my desktop computer.
When the ad blocker came up, I was on my laptop and it wouldn't let me sign in unless I inactivated the ad blocker.
If I am paying a subscription fee, I shouldn't have to see disable my ad blocker, I shouldn't see the ads at all.
On some other sites, I expect to see ads if I don't pay, but if I pay my subscription, then that allows me to view the pages
without any advertising.

But you will see the ads if you are not signed in, everyone does. The site does not know if you are a member or not until you have signed in and then the ads are gone.

Not sure why it wanted you to disable your ad blocker before signing in though, unless it had to display the ads on the log in page before it allowed you to log in? I don't have an ad blocker though so I'm only guessing?

You have to disable the ad blocker in your browser. Which browser do you use on your laptop?

It happens on both Chrome and IE. I go back and forth between the two of them.
I am going to try to disable AdBlocker, sign in and "stay signed in" and then enable AdBlocker
and see if that solves the problem.

Thank you to everyone for your suggestions!!!
